Simulated Controlled Store Testing
Shopping/Purchase Simulation
In the MSI system, the consumer/shopper enters the interactive store, and goes to the appropriate category shelf. That shelf includes the brands, varieties, sizes and facings representing local conditions. In that the product images on the shelf are digitized, variations in local market conditions (i.e., pricing, regional brands) can easily be accommodated as well as pack sizes, graphics, and other on-shelf issues. The test brand appears in its proper varieties, facings, shelf location and pricing.
Shelf sets/promotions appear as they do in real stores. Interactive high resolution monitors allow the shopper to browse the shelf, pick up products for a closer look, read back labels, and buy or not buy particular products as the do in real stores. The “reality” of this shopping experience has been validated to accurately simulate the natural shopping experience, and most importantly, the real world trial rate for new products.
